Another round of storms tonight?

Last night, a line of thunderstorms that developed over eastern New Mexico and the Texas panhandle brought gusty winds and heavy rain to portions of the South Plains early Monday morning. This afternoon, the sun will continue to shine and moisture continue to increase; setting the stage for another round of storms tonight.

Weekend rain; spotty, but potentially beneficial!

A storm system, approaching from the west, will bring increasing clouds and a chance of showers and thunderstorms early Saturday, through late Sunday afternoon.

‘Typical’ early spring weather continues!

The past week of west Texas weather has been fairly tame: occasional high-level clouds, mild afternoons, and seasonably chilly mornings. All of this only occasionally interrupted by a weak cold front. This overall weather pattern will carry us into the weekend.

Arctic Blast On The Way

The cold air that was alluded to earlier in the week has now spilled into the ‘lower 48’, and will continue its march towards Lubbock overnight. Ahead of the front, you have less than 24 hours of unseasonably mild fall weather to enjoy.

Our Monday wasn’t too uncomfortable; highs near 60°, under mostly cloudy skies. It’ll be even nicer by Wednesday, under a little more sunshine and afternoon temperatures in the 70’s. But, you’ll need to enjoy it while it lasts…

Saturday will begin cool, but clear. Temperatures will range from near freezing on the far northwest side of town, to mid 30’s inside the loop, and upper 30’s on the southeast side. Winds will be light, in the 5-10 MPH range, but still high enough to make it feel a few degrees colder.
