Nathan Taylor | Operations Director

Nathan is a third-year undergraduate student with focus in CMI and Theater Arts. He grew up in the small town of Post, TX outside of Lubbock. He started volunteering with the station during his very first semester, and now handles scheduling and volunteering opportunities within the station. Catch his show Taste Buds from 5-6 every Wednesday. If he isn’t with the station, he’s off supporting Texas Tech playing the trumpet with the Goin’ Band from Raiderland. Andrew Watters | Marketing Director

Andrew is a fourth-year Creative Media Industries major originally from Fort Worth, Texas. He now calls Corpus Christi home. Andrew started volunteering for the station in January 2022 as a writer and member of the album review team. In August 2022, he accepted the position of Marketing Director. He is in charge of setting up all of the station’s giveaways as well as promoting our brand across campus and throughout the city. He, along with Zachary Sorrels, also supply pictures from concerts and sporting events on campus and in the city. Mohamed Sylla | Underwriting Director

Mohamed is an undergraduate student in Creative Media Industries from Dallas, Texas. He got involved with the station at the 2023 CoMC Welcome event and quickly hoped on board the staff as Underwriting Director the same year. He offers on-air spots to local Lubbock businesses, builds contracts with potential underwriters, and connects the student population to the city. Colby Canterbury | Music Director

Colby is a Creative Media Industries major with a minor in Japanese from Fort Worth, Texas. He began volunteering with the station about two years ago and fell in love with KTXT, becoming our Music Director shortly after. In his free time he enjoys playing and writing music. Elizabeth Veatch | Music Coordinator

Libby is a Mass Communication major from Richardson, Texas. She says started volunteering her freshman year as a DJ and album review writer and love for music drew her to the station. She loves collecting vinyl, reading, watching movies, knitting, and drawing! Danny Ramirez | Local Music Cordinator

Danny is an Electrical Engineering major with a minor in Creative Media Industries. He calls El Paso, Texas home. He got involved with KTXT in the Spring of 2023 and is the very first Live Music Coordinator here at the station. He’s always on the lookout for those local artists sharing their talent and music with the world here in the heart of Lubbock. Catch his show Scenic Drive every Friday at 4. Zachary Sorrels | Technical Producer

Zachary is a Mass Communications graduate student from Tyler, Texas. He started with KTXT in the Fall of 2020 and took the position of Technical Producer in the Fall of 2021. Zachary is the on-site producer for all sports broadcasts and other remote broadcasts. In addition, he also produces Legal IDs and liners for KTXT. Will Iverson | Social Media Director

Will is a PR major with minors in Digital Media and Advertising. He hails close by from Midland, Texas. He began with the station in 2022, wanting to get involved more with his major. Maecee Mainord | Sports Reporter

Maecee is our youngest staff member, hailing from Argyle, Texas. She majors in Broadcast Journalism and Creative Media Industries. She began volunteering with the station by recording liners and sports updates for our sports department, helping her get experience in audio media. She, along with the rest of the sports department is responsible for reporting on all things Texas Tech sports. She is also a part of the Texas Tech chapter of Alpha Xi. Timothy Tschoepe | Sports Reporter

Tim is a Journalism major with a minor in Creative Media Industries here at the College of Media and Communication. Hailing from Bulverde, Texas, Tim is an avid sports fan, supporting the Houston Texans, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Astros and Vegas Golden Knights. Along with Andrew, Maecee and Nathan, Tim can be found reporting on all sorts of Texas Tech sports happenings. Also in his free time you can catch him with the Swing Dance Club on campus. Grace Beene | News Director

Grace is a Journalism major with a minor in creative media industries. She is from Salado, Texas, and has been working as News Director for KTXT since September 2022. Trevor Webb | Training Director

Trevor Webb is also a Journalism major with a minor in Creative Media Industries. He is from Rockwall, Texas, and transferred from Collin College to Texas Tech. After seeing the radio station, he hopped at the opportunity to volunteer in an organization that furthers experience in broadcasting. Derrick Ginter | General Manager

Derrick started his radio career at KTXT-FM in the mid-1990s.  After working as an intern at KOHM-FM, he was hired on full-time as Operations Director.  He worked in commercial radio in the Lubbock market at KFYO-AM, KZII-FM and managed a News Director position at KRBL-FM.  In September of 2001, Derrick succeeded Dr. Clive Kinghorn as GM of KOHM-FM.  During his tenure there, KOHM became Lubbock’s first Digital HD Radio station and Texas Tech Public Media expanded into the San Angelo market with the acquisition of KNCH-FM.  Derrick joined the College of Media and Communication in late 2011.
