Air Force Testing Drones To Stop Active Shooters

(Undated) — The Air Force is testing a system of artificial intelligence and drones aimed at stopping active shooters. The Pennsylvania-based company ZeroEyes is creating the system built off of their existing AI gun-detection software. If the program detects an active threat, a human reviewer will confirm the threat and deploy a robot or drone to intervene. Those drones are programmed to use non-lethal methods to disorient the shooter, including sirens and strobe lights, and will act as a “force multiplier” that will assist authorities headed to the scene.
