Kirsten Davis Wins Big 12 Soccer Offensive Player of the Year

For the second time in her career, Texas Tech super senior forward Kirsten Davis has won Big 12 Soccer Offensive Player of the Year, the Big 12 office announced Tuesday.

Davis, a native of St. Louis, was the lone Red Raider on the All-Big 12 First or Second Team.

She leads the Big 12 and is seventh among all of Division I with 14 goals this season.

For all of her achievements, this was the first season Davis scored a hat trick, which she did against Oklahoma on Sep. 23.

Davis is second all-time at Texas Tech in goals and points over her five years.

In January, Davis was drafted 13th overall in the National Women’s Soccer League College Draft by Racing Louisville FC.

Defender Macy Blackburn, who leads the team in assists, and forward Ashleigh Williams, who is second on the team in goals, made the All-Big 12 Freshman team.

The Red Raiders will try to extend Davis’ season as they play their Big 12 semifinal against the No. 9 TCU Horned Frogs on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex in Round Rock, Texas.
