France Defeats US by 10 in World Cup Quarters

The United States’ domination over the world of basketball has come to an unexpected end. This is the first time since 2006 that the U.S. will not win gold.

In the 89-79 win, France’s current Orlando Magic player Evan Fournier scored 22 points and current Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert had 21 points and 16 rebounds in the victory.

“Any loss hurts,” United States head coach Gregg Popovich said. ” And in this situation, it hurts more. But life goes on.”

Ever since 2006, the U.S. had won 58 consecutive tournament games in FIBA and Olympic tournaments. But the very best the Americans can finish now is in fifth place. The USA will play Serbia tomorrow at 6 a.m.
