American Airlines Sendings Supplies to Help with Relief Following Hurricane Dorian

American Airlines is sending tons of supplies to The Bahamas to help with relief efforts following Hurricane Dorian.

A jet loaded with 14-thousand pounds of supplies took off from Miami International Airport on Thursday and headed for Nassau.

The payload included tarps, ropes, batteries and non-perishable foods intended for more than 30 American Airlines employees who live in the Bahamas.

American Airlines made contact with almost all its employees in the Bahamas to make sure they’re OK. But not all of them were reachable.

Airline officials say they want to continue delivering supplies to their employees, most of whom they’ve heard from.

Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the northwestern Bahamas as a powerful Category 5 storm, killing at least 20 while decimating Abaco and Grand Bahama islands.
