(Houston, TX) — The husband of a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy is headed to prison for a deadly fight. A jury found Terry Thompson guilty of murder today following 12 hours of deliberations. Thompson was arrested following the Memorial Day 2017 confrontation which left John Hernandez dead. His attorneys unsuccessfully argued Thompson was defending himself while prosecutors said he knew Hernandez was defenseless. Thompson’s first trial ended with a hung jury in June. His wife, ex-Deputy Chauna Thompson, is also charged in the case. Terry Thompson could get life in prison.
