Supreme Court Denies Appeal From Salvadoran Immigrant

(Washington, DC) — The U.S. Supreme Court is rejecting an appeal by a Salvadoran immigrant convicted of killing two Houston store clerks. Justices declined to hear Gilmar Guevara’s appeal today without comment. He was put on death row in 2001 for the killings, which happened inside a market. Guevara’s attorneys say he’s too mentally challenged to be executed.
