Music Exec Faces Sexual Abuse Allegations

(Santa Clarita, CA)  —  The Walt Disney Company’s director of music publishing faces accusations of sexually abusing two underage girls about ten years ago.

“Variety” says 58-year-old Jon Heely of Santa Clarita allegedly abused the first girl when she was 15. Investigators say Heely victimized the second girl when she was eleven-years-old and continued until she was 15.

Disney suspended Heely on Friday after the company was informed of the charges. He was arrested last month by Santa Clarita Station Sheriff’s deputies and was released on 150-thousand-dollars’ bail. Heely has been with Disney since 1981 and oversees licensing of the vast catalog of music of the studio’s films.

Prosecutors charged Heely with three counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment this week at the San Fernando courthouse. Heely is due back in court on January 10th. He faces up to nine years in prison if convicted.
