Ex-Mexican Governor Arrested, Wanted In Texas On Money Laundering

(Ciudad Victoria) — A former Mexican governor, wanted in Texas on money laundering charges, is now under arrest.

Eugenio Hernandez was taken into custody this morning in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas.

Federal prosecutors in Corpus Christi say Hernandez took bribes from the Zetas cartel, and laundered money in the U.S. He served as Tamaulipas governor from 2005 to 2010.
