Transcript: Trump Asks Mexican President To End Defiance On Wall

A transcript of a phone call reportedly reveals that President Trump asked Mexico’s president to stop saying his country will not pay for a massive border wall.  The “Washington Post” reports on a January 27th call between Trump and Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, Trump said repeatedly “You cannot say that to the press.”  Trump said he realized that funding for the wall would probably have to come from other sources, or some sort of deal would be worked out.

Trump and the Mexican leader also discussed illegal drugs, how the wall would stop the drugs from entering the U.S. and states that have been hardest-hit by drug smuggling.  Trump then called the state of New Hampshire a “drug-infested den.”  The Granite State has been especially hard-hit by the growing opioid drug epidemic.
