LUBBOCK, Texas — 6th annual College Radio Day is in the books and was a great success for colleges throughout the world including KTXT 88.1 FM The Raider in Lubbock, TX.

College Radio Day held its yearly 24-hour broadcast on November 4, 2016 in which many student run radio stations participated in. Since its inception by founder Rob Quick in 2010, College Radio Day now has over 30 countries involved.

KTXT 88.1 FM took part in this effort hosting a variety of programs including a special two hour Good Morning Texas Tech kicking off the event last Friday at 8 a.m. KTXT held other live broadcasts, sports remotes, specialty music formats and events within the local community for a full nonstop 24-hour broadcast concluding at 8 a.m. Saturday morning on November 5th.

One of the goals of this day is to raise awareness for the creative outlet that is college radio and appreciate that it is not restricted in many ways that its commercial radio counterparts are. College Radio Day aims to generate a regular listener base that might not normally tune in through the many college campuses that invest in quality radio.
