GMTT – Halloween Special

img_6350

This morning on Good Morning Texas Tech the GMTT crew tackled everything from sports to DG’s Halloween costumes through the ages. Our last October show of the semester was also made whole by the donuts that Haylee (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) brought in. They seem to be a theme around the station, regardless there was a style and flavor for everyone.

There is a wonderful interview that Andrew and Brian put together with Chris Beard, the new head basketball coach for the Red Raiders (Interview can be heard on Facebook on both The Overreaction and the GMTT @theraider881). It was a great blend of serious sports talk mixed with questions that brought on the facts such as Coach Beard’s favorite sports movie is ‘miracle on ice’ and he loves Mexican food, mmm enchiladas. Be on the look out for the team this year, with a Coach that takes his job as serious as he does and paired with an approachable demeanor we’ve got a new respectable mentor on campus to lead a successful program.

DG is the man behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz making everything run except behind this curtain is just more mystery, and his Oz is built off of real radio credibility through the years. Maybe some ruby reds are in his future if he’s looking to up his costume game. He spoke on Star Wars costumes and how E.T. was popular, back when trick or treating was a full blown experience within the neighborhoods. Days left behind somewhat for trunk or treats these days but parents still check their kids candy (or they should) for razor blades and needles as the old rumors that paved the way for the safer Halloween version involving strangers and their car trunks. I seem to remember my mom warning me about this in my youth…

Have a safe and fun weekend and don’t be tricked, we’re all little kids still, dressed up as adults looking for our own version of a treat. One thing cannot be denied though and that’s candy, lots and lots of candy!

Happy Halloween!
