(Dallas, TX)  —  It’s the last day on the job for Dallas Police Chief David Brown who retires as of today.

Brown leaves after career of more than 30 years with Dallas PD, the last six as chief.

He’s a Dallas native, having grown up in Oak Cliff, where he witnessed the growth of the crack cocaine epidemic in the 80s.  He says that’s what inspired him to a career in police work.
