Tornadoes ripped through Texas, Oklahoma and through Nebraska Thursday

Public safety officials are surveying the damage across the Plains today after tornadoes tore through the region yesterday.  Oklahoma City appears to have been the hardest hit.

At least 20 people are injured after a tornado tore through Oklahoma City yesterday.  Officials say five of those people were critically hurt.  One death has also been reported and blamed on flash flooding in the city.

The water rose so quickly that the National Weather Service had to issue the first flash flood emergency warning in Oklahoma City’s history.  It’s believed that more than two dozen tornadoes in all touched down yesterday in an area that spanned from Texas to central Nebraska.

There are reports of dozens of tornadoes touching down yesterday from Texas to central Nebraska.
