Licensed open carry is headed to the Texas Senate.  The House overwhelmingly voted in favor of a bill allowing concealed carry permit holders to carry their guns openly yesterday.

They rejected an amendment from Democrats which would have exempted major cities.  Seven Democrats from the Texas-Mexico border voted in favor of open carry.

Texans can already open carry rifles.  The Texas Senate passed a bill earlier in the session which would allow open carry without a license.  That bill is still in the House.  Governor Greg Abbott has said he’d sign any bill allowing open carry.
