The debate for carrying concealed weapons on college campuses is firing up.

President of the Tech Student Democrats Cole Adams led an anti-campus carry rally Wednesday. He argued that the more people with guns, the higher the potential for innocent bystanders being shot in an active shooter situation.

Now the bill that would allow campus carry passed by the senate with a vote of 20-11 and is now being considered by the House.  That means Lubbock-area representatives will get to have their input.

As for now, Cole makes a good argument stating campus is safe enough with campus police and campus security, and they should be the only ones allowed to carry guns.
