Wayne Selden Jr. made four 3-pointers en route to 16 points in the eighth-ranked Kansas Jayhawks’ 73-51 victory over Texas Tech on Tuesday. Perry Ellis added 14 points and nine rebounds for the Jayhawks, while three other players had 10 points apiece. Norense Odiase led the Red Raiders, scoring 13 points and eight rebounds for Tech, while Devaugntah Williams and Zach Smith contributed 11 and 10 points respectively. Tech goes to 12-13 on the season, 2-10 in conference play.

The Lady Raiders are looking to end their three-game losing streak tonight at the United Supermarkets Arena, taking on the Iowa State Cyclones at 7 p.m. Tech is currently 13-10 on the season, 3-8 in conference play.

If you were looking to purchase season tickets for Texas Tech baseball this season, then you are out of luck! TexasTech.com reports all season tickets for the upcoming season are sold out for the first time in school history. Tech opens the season this Friday at 2 p.m. against San Francisco.

Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt has been named to the College Football Playoff Committee, ESPN reported Monday. Hocutt will represent the Big 12 conference on the committee, being voted in unanimously to take over for former West Virginia athletic Director Oliver Luck. The committee is responsible for the placement of teams in the playoff, as well as the assignment to bowl games.

And finally, New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez apologized to the Yankees organization on Tuesday for the actions that led to him being suspended all of last season. Rodriguez, who took performance-enhancing drugs and lied about it for years, apologized and both the team and the public to “judge him from this day forward.”
