LUBBOCK – I’m Ciara with your KTXT Sports Update.

After a solid first half, the Red Raiders lost to the Razorbacks by a score of 49 – 28 Saturday afternoon at the Jones AT&T Stadium. Arkansas, who came into the game 1-1, steamrolled the Tech defense. Razorback running back Jonathan Williams ran for four touchdowns, accounting for 145 of Arkansas’ 438 yards. Running back Alex Collins added two rushing touchdowns, and quarterback Brandon Allen rushed for one. Tech sophomore quarterback Davis Webb threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns. After only throwing nine interceptions the entire season last year, Webb threw two Saturday, bringing his total through three games to four. Tech is looking to rebound against the 2-1 Oklahoma State Cowboys on September 20 at 6:30 at the Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock.

It only took 36 seconds into the second half of the match on Sunday for the Red Raiders to score a goal. Texas Tech, coming into the match undefeated and ranked number seven in the country, were looking to continue that streak as they took on Abilene Christian in misting rain on Sunday night at the John Walker Soccer Complex. And the Red Raiders did just that, beating the Wildcats 2-0. Janine Beckie, who has been a major factor in Tech’s win streak, connected on the goal with an assist from Alli Murphy. Murphy is one of the leaders in assists in the NCAA, now totaling nine in eight matches. Paige Strahan also scored a goal for Tech twenty minutes into the second half. Abilene Christian could not get much going after keeping the Red Raiders scoreless through the first half of the match. Tech will be on the road for their next three games, but head back to Lubbock on September 28 to take on UC Riverside at the John Walker Soccer Complex.

The Dallas Cowboys are almost perfect when DeMarco Murray gets 20 or more carries in a game. Murray carried the ball 29 times for 167 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys’ 26-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Tony Romo completed 19-of-29 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown. The veteran quarterback bounced back after throwing three interceptions during last week’s 28-17 defeat against the San Francisco 49ers. The Cowboys (1-1) improved to 12-1
