Bioethicist Lecture Highlights Texas Tech Ag Awareness Week

WHAT:           Texas Tech University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) Ag Awareness Week

WHEN:           Sunday through Friday (April 21-26)

WHERE:        Various, off and on campus

EVENT:          The college’s annual “Agriculture and Natural Resources Awareness Week” begins Sunday (April 21) with a number of events and activities planned throughout the week to showcase the college’s departments and student organizations to the campus community.

One of the week’s highlights is a special lecture by one of the nation’s groundbreaking bioethicists, Bernard Rollin. He will be a featured speaker at 6 p.m. Tuesday (April 23) at the International Cultural Center, 601 Indiana Ave. His presentation “Animal Rights as a Main Stream Phenomenon: Emerging Societal Ethics for Animals” is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

Among the events planned are: Ag Olympics, CASNR Facebook Trivia, Boots to Suits, Ag Education & Communications Banquet, “Where’s the Food without the Farmer” event, Beef Issues Class Special Presentation and the CASNR Honors Banquet.
