LUBBOCK – Three people were hospitalized after a five-car accident in Lubbock Thursday.

The Lubbock Police Department responded to a call on the corner of Avenue S and Glenna Goodacre Blvd around 12am Thursday.  19-year-old Jason White was driving east in the 1800 block of Glenna Goodacre in a GMC Sierra pickup truck when he struck a 2006 Ford Fusion which was in the process of merging.

Authorities believe White was driving at excessive speeds at the time of the accident.  A 19-year-old female passenger in the Ford Fusion was ejected at impact.  She was wearing her seat-belt.

After striking the Ford Fusion, White’s vehicle struck a parked Chevrolet Impala and a Ford Crown Victoria.  A Volkswagen Jetta and a house was also damaged.

Two were taken to the hospital with critical injuries, and another suffered minor injuries.

According to the Lubbock Avalanche Journal, White was arrested and taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center for two counts of intoxication assault.
