2-Year-Old Returned to Father After West Lubbock Carjacking

Lubbock Police responded to a kidnapping call yesterday evening.

According to a LPD report, Jontel Perry stole a car in the 6200 block of 24th street. Inside of the vehicle was a 2 year old boy. The boy’s father notified the police and officers located the vehicle. A short chase ensued ending when Perry fled the vehicle.

After apprehending Perry, police returned to the vehicle to find the child missing. The child was located a short while later after a concerned citizen reported seeing him in a parking lot. The child was unharmed and in good condition and was returned to his father.

Perry was arrested, and has been charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Evading Arrest, and Endangering a Child.
