Upset lives here! The Tech men’s basketball team took on number 9 Iowa State on Saturday at the United Supermarkets Arena and upset the Cyclones 78-73 to earn their first Big 12 win of the season. Senior Toddrick Gotcher made five three pointers on Saturday, putting up 17 points in the win, while Devaugntah Williams scored 22 for a career high. Fans rushed the court after victory, celebrating Tech’s first win over a top ranked opponent since 2009.

 
The Lady Raiders fought, but came up short against the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday in Norman, Oklahoma. Despite a double-double by Dayo Olabode (14 points, 11 rebounds), the Sooners took the win, 61-55. Gioya Carter led the Sooners with 22 points and nine rebounds on the night.

 
Also on Saturday, Tech headed to College Station to participate in the Texas A&M Quadrangular, and broke three records on the day. According to TexasTech.com, JaCorian Duffield, Cierra White and Kole Weldon all broke school records, with Duffield moving up into a tie for first in the nation in the men’s high jump, and number three in the world. The ranked teams (men: number nine, women: number 17) will host the Masked Rider Open this upcoming weekend.
