Texas Tech was named the number three seed during the NCAA Selection Show Monday, meaning the Red Raiders will host the opening round match versus Prairie View A&M on Friday at the John Walker Soccer Complex at 5 p.m.
This is the third straight year Tech will host the opening round.
According to TexasTech.com, by receiving the number three seeds, with a victory, the Red Raiders can possibly avoid playing another ranked opponent until the third round.
With their first national ranking in the championship, Tech enters the matchup with a 14-3-2 overall record.
Tickets are currently on sale. The match will be broadcast live on KTXT.
