Mariahadessa Ekere Tallie joined the cast of Good Morning Texas Tech February 17th as part of our Black History Month show. In the interview, she discusses modern day racism, silence, abuse, and humanity, as well as recites her poem For Dr. Nina Simone.
Ekere Tallie is a recognized writer, educator, performer and poet. Her work covers topics ranging from love to hatred, discussing issues from lynching to surviving traumatic experiences. Her writing has been published in numerous anthologies and she has recently released a book of her work titled Karma’s Footsteps. She teaches at York College in New York City.
